CHESS is a unique facility successfully embedded in the dynamic Cornell academic environment yet operating as a national research facility.  Our facility offers users in both academia and the private sector, the ability to do synchrotron research in the physical, engineering, biological and macromolecular crystallography sciences.

It is essential for personnel and visiting users to be familiar with the policies and procedures for safe operation of the facility.  All users of the facility are required to take an on-line quiz before they can use the facility and to be renewed every two years.

As a prerequisite for work at CHESS it must be established whether or not hazardous materials are involved.
