Chapter Three - Safety Committee

Purpose

A group that meets regularly to proactively address department, unit, or building safety concerns.  The committee identifies these concerns, provides solutions, disseminates safety information, conducts safety self-audits, and assists the safety representative.

(Above quoted directly from Cornell University Occupational Health and Safety Policy)

The CHESS Safety Committee will have the sole authority to allow and approve any alterations in the CHESS Safety equipment.  This committee consists of a chairman, and three additional members with the CHESS Director as ex-officio member.

(Above from "General CHESS Safety Procedures" - a memo put out by the CHESS Safety Committee)
