Chapter Four - Emergency Procedures

Poisoning:

1. Give a glass of milk or water immediately as indicated by MSDS.

2. Call your Poison Control Center: (Syracuse) 315-476-4766

3. If the victim is unconscious:

• Make sure the patient is breathing.  If not, perform mouth-to-mouth breathing and do not give anything by mouth.  Do not attempt to stimulate the person.  Call an ambulance immediately.

 

4. If victim is vomiting:  Roll him/her onto the left side so that the person will not choke on what is brought up.

5. Be prepared.  Determine and verify your Poison Center and Ambulance Squad numbers.  (Emergency Numbers)
