Chapter Eight - Radiation Safety

 

Radiation Shielding:

Radiation shield walls filled with stacked lead bricks and lead sheeting form physical barriers to radiation.  Be aware of permanent radiation shielding and do not alter it unless it has been approved by the Operations Manager and it is safe to do so.

Shielding is only guaranteed up to a height of eight feet, so do not stand on chairs or tables within the experimental areas.
