Area Station Boards:
When the board outside an interlock reads "interlocks set", "synchrotron on" or "CESR on", you may NOT pass through the interlock unless the sign also says "Take a Key".
If the area status board reads "Area Safe", then
the machine is completely off and the entire experimental area has
been surveyed for radiation. Once the area had been declared
safe, no keys are necessary and all experimental areas are open, but
you must still wear a radiation badge.
