2026 Spring Run (2026_2) Important Dates and Deadlines
| Call for Proposals and Beam Time Requests (BTRs) Begins | January 7, 2026 |
| Proposal Deadline | February 18, 2026 |
| Rapid Access Proposal Submission* begins | February 18, 2026 |
| Peer Review Deadline for Incoming Proposals* | March 4, 2026 |
| Beam Time Request (BTR) Deadline | March 4, 2026 |
| Run Cycle Begins | April 29, 2026 |
| Run Cycle Ends | June 30, 2026 |
* Rapid Access proposals are selectively accepted. Among the beamlines, MacCHESS beamlines (7A XBio / BioSAXS and 7B2 XBio / FlexX) and MSN-C beamlines (1A3 SMB and 3B FMB) accept Rapid Access proposals. Consequently, peer reviews for MacCHESS beamlines are continuous. MSN-C operates as a closed system and is not subject to peer review.
CHEXS beamlines (2A PIPOXS, 3A FAST, and 4B QM2) do NOT accept Rapid Access proposals. Proposals and beam time requests adhere to the deadlines listed above. Peer reviewers should observe the deadline above.

- If you have never submitted a proposal to CHESS please see the Prospective Users Handbook for more information on the process.
- Once submitted, the proposal is active for 2 years. The first BTR will be automatically created based on the run cycle selected in the proposal. Subsequent BTRs must be submitted by you or a collaborator listed on the proposal to be eligible for beam time in future run cycles. Unscheduled BTRs are not saved for future cycles.
- Users who have already submitted a proposal can find information on the CHESS User Guide.
