Students are introduced to concepts of electrical energy and electrical current using a paper model. They construct simple circuits using inexpensive household items and explore their behavior. Next, they meter series and parallel circuits, and extract relationships for series and parallel circuits from their data. A series of questions leads students to consider energy transformations that occur in the electrical circuits they constructed.
