The virtual poster session took place on June 8th, 2021, consisting of two segments:
Poster Slam -
June 8th at 2:15pm: Each poster presenter has 1 minute and 1 slide to introduce their poster to all Users Meeting participants in a plenary session.
- This is a great way to convey excitement for your research in 60 seconds.
- We will compile the slides of all presenters into one presentation and have them ready (with a schedule of presenters) for the poster slam. When your slide is shown, please introduce yourself and your research. Please make sure you are ready, with microphone and video for this portion! We will be muting/unmuting as needed. A clock will be ticking!
- Participation in the poster slam is mandatory for presenters who want to be considered for the CHESS Poster Awards but optional for presenters who are not competing for the poster awards.
Poster Session -
June 8th at 3pm: "Typical" poster session using virtual platform
- Poster presenters will join a virtual poster session via spatial.chat platform. You will be assigned a room within this platform where people can come by and discuss your poster.
- Poster should consist of one slide, a Powerpoint or PDF.
- Tips for a good poster
- Feel free to use the template provided, or use your own template!
- Less text is better. The virtual world does not allow for much attention span.
- Please use large text and as much imagery as possible to explain your science.
- Prizes will be awarded for the Best Technical Poster and the Best Scientific Design.
- Criteria includes:
- Importance of the presented research
- Creativity and impact of the poster presentation
- Engagement of the poster presenter in the virtual poster session
