CHESS was constructed in the period from 1978 to 1980 as a synchrotron x-ray facility, parasitic to the CESR High Energy Physics program.
Focusing on our users and the unique capabilities of CHESS, CHESS-U is an upgrade that will extend CHESS’s capacity for cutting-edge, innovative science and technology.
