EVOLUTION & PHYSIOLOGY (Grades 2-8)
Students will learn how to measure length in SI units (the metric system), and practice measurements on human and orangutan hands and on human feet.
This kit includes models of human hands and feet, an orangutan hand, and a human humerus. Connections are made to shared ancestry (evolution) and human impact on the environment (orangutans’ dwindling habitat). Students may practice conversion of metric units, as well as inferring a subject’s height from the length of their humerus.
