Summary
This 3-day remote workshop will bring together pioneering technical leaders from high magnetic field laboratories, synchrotrons, and FELs with a broad & interdisciplinary community of existing and potential future users. The goals of the workshop are to help identify the highest-impact science drivers and technical requirements for facilities combining bright x-ray beams with high magnetic fields. The workshop will include invited talks from domain science experts in materials, biology, and engineering, and will also feature breakout discussions and brainstorming sessions. Activities will conclude with summary talks identifying high-impact research directions in each of the different research disciplines represented. This workshop is also intended to double as the summer 2022 meeting of the HMF Science Development Team (HMF-SDT).
This workshop is sponsored and funded by the National Science Foundation.
