MacCHESS is the home of the widely-used BioSAXS data analysis package RAW. The program is free, open-source, and runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Download and learn more about BioXTAS RAW.
Read the Docs includes helpful tutorials and guides for data processing.
Other useful processing software:
- ATSAS data analysis software - program suite for small-angle scattering data analysis
- Situs - for modeling and visualization of low resolution bead models
- ScatterBrain - SAXS data reduction program developed at the Australian Synchrotron
- Fitting SAXS data on disordered proteins - Sosnick lab (U. Chicago)
- CCP-SAS project
- Bilbo MD
MacCHESS staff can teach you how to create scattering profiles, evaluate data quality, and compute Rg on site. But, just like protein crystallography, there is a lot to learn … much more than you can absorb in one sitting. We strongly recommend that new users take a training course, if possible. Such 1-2 day courses are offered by a number of synchrotron sources. MacCHESS periodically offers an introductory workshop entitled "BioSAXS Essentials." To receive notification of the next scheduled course offering, please leave us your contact information.
