The interface which controls the BAM-2 automounter has a panel for logging mounts and "blocking" pucks and pins.
To find the Mount/Block log on the BAM-2 interface, click the "MT log" tab. It should bring up a visual representation of all 9 pucks.
Mount logging:
Whenever a sample is successfully mounted, the event is logged, and the indicator for that sample on the MT log page is colored cyan. Any puck, or all pucks, can be cleared using the Reset buttons on this panel.
Blocking:
When a sample is designated as "blocked", it cannot be mounted. The relevant position on the "MT log" panel is colored black. The intended purpose is that positions which are vacant can be blocked at the time of sample loading, saving time and frustration later on if an attempt is made to mount a nonexistent sample. The interface will report that the position is blocked, and the command will fail very quickly. If blocking is not used, and an errant mount attempt is made on a nonexistent sample, time will be lost as the automounter makes repeated attempts to execute the mount. A sample may be "blocked" by selecting the sample's puck and pin on the "User" tab panel, then clicking the "Block" button on that panel. Likewise, a sample may be "unblocked" by selecting the puck and pin and clicking "unblock." Or, a full puck may be blocked or unblocked by clicking the "Block" or "Unblock" buttons beside each puck on the "MT log" panel. An "Unblock All" button on the "MT log" panel will unblock all positions of all pucks.
